Dr. Choudary Voleti has put up his
collection of bhajans, photos and clips
Dr. Choudary Voleti was born in India in the early 1940s, in Nendragunta, a small
village, twenty miles from the holy town of Tirupathi, abode of Lord Venkateswara.
After finishing his basic medical training, he migrated to the U.S.A to pursue his
ambition of becoming a cardiac surgeon. With self-effort and divine grace he
established himself as a successful cardiac surgeon and achieved the “American
dream” of professional recognition, financial stability and material comforts. In
spite of being at the pinnacle of his career, Dr. Voleti lacked peace of mind and
there remained an inexplicable vacuum in his life. He felt a strong need to search
for the real purpose of his existence. He thus embarked on a journey of service to
his Motherland. This brought him into the path of the spiritual supremacy of Sri
Sathya Sai Baba and the educational and health-care missions of Sai Baba.
Until his retirement from active practice of cardiac surgery in the year 2001, Dr.
Voleti made frequent trips with a group of cardiac specialists to provide voluntary
service in Sri Sathya Sai Baba’s super speciality hospitals. During these trips,
exposure to the limitless love and compassion of Sai Baba and Sai Baba’s selfless
service to humanity made him realize the transient nature of human life and that the
ultimate aim of life is to achieve salvation through self-sacrificing service.
ONE WHO IS ESTABLISHED IN SELFLESS AND DETACHED ACTION, WHO IS PURE, WHOSE MIND AND
SENSES ARE UNDER CONTROL,
AND WHOSE SELF IS IDENTIFIED WITH THE SELF OF ALL - HE IS NEVER BOUND, THOUGH HE BE
ENGAGED IN WORK.
- BHAGAVATH GITA
Since retirement, Dr.Voleti has travelled the globe sharing his experiences with Sri
Sathya Sai Baba and lecturing on spiritual aspects of medicine. He continues to make
several visits every year to Sai Baba’s super speciality hospitals providing
voluntary service as a consultant cardiac surgeon.
Dr.Voleti’s various philanthropic activities are structured through the Sai Veda
Venkatrama Charitable Trust, based in Chennai, India, of which he is the Trust
executants.
AFTER SEVERAL BIRTHS, ONE BECOMES WISE AND SURRENDERS TO ME AND ATTAINS ME,
REALIZING THAT ALL IS GOD, AND GOD IS ALL. SUCH A SOUL IS RARE TO FIND.
