Giridhari Sannidhiki Girijanula Parthi Yaatra
Valedictory Ceremony
June 29, 2009
29th June 2009, the final day of the three day Girijan Parthi Yaatra from the twin
Godavari districts witnessed the parting scenes from the devout numbering over 900,
who with a filled heart paid heartfelt gratitude to their newfound love, savior
Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba. The programme commenced with an address by P. Vardhana
Rao, Education Wing co-ordinator for SSSVIP, East Godavari District. Listing out the
achievements of the Organisation under the Project, making a mention of the eight
fold service scheme, Mr. Rao prayed to Bhagawan to hand over the keys for the four
Integrated Village Service Centres, five Ram Temples, one Shiva Temple and a Mini
Rice Mill that were constructed and dedicated to the villagers.
Bhagawan lovingly presented the keys to the designated persons representing each
unit. Each of these Village Integrated Service Centers were dedicated to people who
have done a lot of great work for the villages and who are extremely close to
Bhagawan’s heart, namely, Sri Dandamudi Venkata Rama Rao at village Mareedumilli,
Sri Seetharamaiah at village G.M.Valasa, Sri Sai Ravi Sekhar at village Madicherla
and Thuraga Rama Murthy at village Gunjigudem. The Mini Rice Mill was constructed
and donated to a villager in the Sri Puram village providing him an employment
opportunity. Brief accounts about these devoted souls in whose name these services
were dedicated were read out narrating the dedication and devotion towards social
service and Bhagawan.
A soulful rendering by Ms. M.Nagamani, a tribal woman, with a deep sense of
gratitude for the service rendered by the Organisation, pleased Bhagawan and He
called her lovingly to materialised a chain in appreciation of her singing. She was
also presented with a sari. Seva Dal Unit from the Organisational Unit from Kakinada
has been visiting her village for the past fifty two weeks, on scheduled days,
non-stop, bringing in greater transformation. Bhagawan has always given a lot of
stress to the expression of gratitude and hailed it as an important virtue for a
devout.
Bhagawan then interacted with a few of the girijans assembled in front and asked
them if all work was completed and that He would complete any other work which was
yet not completed.
The depth of this assurance is unfathomable. Yes, He does it, most silently…and the
world will see much more as His Mission is on!
PPONGI POYINDI GODAVARI
Musical Dance Drama in Gratitude
The legend has it enough to establish the sacrosanct status of the River Godavari.
The River has earned a significant place in Hindu mythology and has several pilgrim
centres on her banks. Every twelve years, the legendary Pushkaram fair is held on
the banks of the River Godavari, when thousands upon thousands take holy dip in the
sacred waters washing off their sins. Just a day before only the tribal girls had a
beautiful dance depiction “Godavari Talli Goomugha Adigindi” seeking the Divine to
bless River Godavari to sanctify her yet again, which has most selflessly
accumulated the sins of the world.
Coming unto Prasanthi Nilayam, the Abode of Lord in physical to have His darshan,
the tribals from the twin districts of Godavari had a life time opportunity,
feasting their eyes with the sacred sight of the Lord in physical; and they made
every sincere heartfelt effort to replicate their best in His presence, be it their
cultural legacy or devotional fervour, Prasanthi Nilayam witnessed an ebullient
Godavari, making merriment at the best of their boons, the sight of the Lord and the
great good fortune it brought unto them.
Uppongi Poyindi Godavari, the musical dance drama staged on the 28th evening in the
Divine Presence had the story of their new found love with the Lord of Prasanthi.
Sivayya, a Sai devotee seeing the tribals in Prasanthi NIlayam was surprised and was
curious to know of the intent behind their visit. Upon his query, the Tribal heads
replied narrating all the good things that the Sai volunteers had brought unto them,
literally transforming their lives. Listing out the various service activities
introduced to the betterment of the villagers, the tribal head said, “God helps the
helpless. It is Baba alone who came to our rescue by adopting measures to improve
our living conditions aiming for our well-being & economic growth. With Baba's
Drinking Water Project and SSSVIP service Activities, we all remember and chant His
Name. Without our asking, Baba has done so much for us and how could we remain there
in our place without coming here? We came here to offer our humble salutations at
His Lotus Feet".
The tribals experienced Miracle galore and visiting Prasanthi Nilayam, seeing Baba,
they were overjoyed with ecstasy. The tribals with their innocence and pure love for
Bhagawan finally had a supplication, invoking His Holy Presence in the twin
districts of Godavari.
The musical drama, a combine of games, songs, and dances was verily a feast; songs
and dances suffused with innate feeling; expressive lyrics packed with devotion,
beautiful costumes made it to bring a virtual Godavari Tribal Kingdom unto the
precincts of Prasanthi Nilayam. Hailing Bhagawan as one without comparison, one
without a substitute, they had songs on the sacred River Godavari, Forests and
Sacred places, offering to Bhagawan talking of the Water Project, Depiction of their
Villages, Glory of Puttaparthi etc. Invoking Him to Godavari, hailing Him as Lord
Krishna, they sang that with His sacred touch, their villages would become Repalli
and their forest would become a Brindavanam. The touch of devotion, power packed
with innate feeling invoking the Lord to the tribal Kingdom was a moving scene that
God would have accepted quite silently. They sang:
Lord Sai has come! Our Liberator has come! The Emperor of the world is before us;
the entire Forest Kingdom is ebullient at the great good fortune; And all our lives
is a prosperous Sankranthi…
It was an apt presentation in gratitude by the Bal Vikas Children and Youth. River
Godavari would flow ebullient with greater anticipation and so would be the twin
districts and the thousands of tribals who found their new found love in Prasanthi
Nilayam and their real savior.

The villages of East and West Godavari districts have been witnessing a flurry of
service activities by the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations, Andhra Pradesh. The
dedicated batches of Seva Dals have been fanning out to inaccessible villages in the
agency areas of Godavari districts. They are rendering service in the fields of
education, medicine, agriculture, infrastructure and spirituality. The Seva Dals are
helping the educated unemployed in finding employment, creating awareness in them to
have good health and hygiene, ill-effects of smoking and drinking alcohol. The
villagers are mightily pleased with the help they are receiving from the
Organisation under the Sri Sathya Sai Village Integrated Programme (SSSVIP).
Nine hundred and forty Girijans (tribals) from these agency areas have come on a
three-day pilgrimage to Prasanthi Nilayam, under the auspices of Sri Sathya Sai Seva
Organisations, Andhra Pradesh. This pilgrimage is an expression of their love for
Bhagawan for providing pure drinking water in the upland areas of East and West
Godavari districts and for the service they are receiving in the name of Bhagawan
Sri Sathya Sai Baba.
The programme commenced on the 27th evening, with Dr. Bhaskar Rao, a medical doctor
by profession, a veteran long time devotee and an active functionary of the
Organisation dilated at length on the SSSVIP programmes being implemented by the
organisation in these districts. Making a mention of the services being rendered in
the name of SSSVIP, Dr. Bhaskar Rao said, in the first phase of SSSVIP, out of 432
villages in the agency areas, Seva Dals are doing active Seva in 44 villages.
Getting up as early at three in the morning, trekking long distances in the rough
terrain to reach the villages at around 10 am, these sevadals do service activities
in the villages throughout the day, in the form of Bal Vikas, imparting formal
education, etc., finally ending up, getting back to their respective places at
around 11 in the night. As a part of medicare, they arrange for specialist doctors
to treat patients from the area; some of the incurable diseases of tribals are cured
because of this specialised care. Lady Seva Dals are creating awareness in the
tribals about personal hygiene and the importance of cleanliness both inside and
outside the houses. The Seva Dals are also helping in the construction of temples
and all major festivals are celebrated in the villages with grandeur. Quality
vegetable seeds and pesticide sprayers are distributed to every household for
developing kitchen gardens. They have constructed community halls, permanent houses;
bus shelters and primary schools are revamped. Extension of Sri Sathya Sai Drinking
Water pipelines to schools hostels and junior colleges is also done. Woollen
blankets, saris, dhotis, shirts and trousers are distributed on different occasions.
Sewing training centres are started in these villages and the tribal women are given
training in these centres.
Briefing the eight point service activities done in the field of agriculture,
education, employment care, spiritual needs, individual care, socio-care,
infrastructural development and medicare, Dr. Bhaskar Rao, expressed gratitude to
Bhagawan for the strength He has imparted on to the Seva Dals helping them to do
relentless service. The tribals from the region have developed greater love and
affection for Bhagawan and wanted to come to Prasanthi Nilayam to offer their
gratitude in person; over 940 tribals have joined the Yatra and in gratitude and
these tribals wanted Bhagawan to visit their ‘homeland’, the Godavari region, said
Dr. Bhaskar Rao.
After Dr. Bhaskar Rao’s speech, the participating Seva Dals came in a rally offering
their obeisance, paying Guard of Honour to Bhagawan carrying name plates of the
villages they were rendering services. This was followed by an offering of forest
products by the tribal group, at His Divine Lotus Feet.
What followed this was a vibrant performance by the tribals exhibiting the rich
culture of the region. To start with drum beating youths gave a beautiful
performance, Konda Reddla Dappu Vinyasam, an art featuring synchronization of their
drum beats. The next was Koyadorala Kommu Nrithyam by the Koya tribals from the
agency areas, dressing with bull horns, and locking horns with each other
symbolically to the beat of drums. Garga dance was the next item, a dance usually
performed by the villagers to appease the goddess of the village was performed in
the presence of Bhagawan by balancing a small container on their heads. Deft
performance of walking on two wooden poles; traditional Kolattam dance (dance done
by striking one stick on another with other dancers) was performed with élan by
these villagers.
Godavari, supposedly the second largest in India is a sacrosanct river wherein
millions upon millions take refuge to shelve their sins by having a holy dip. To
such a one which accumulates the sins of the world most selflessly, who will come to
her rescue sanctifying her to flow as ebullient as ever? “Godavari Talli Goomugha
Adigindi” was a beautiful dance song by girls, a prayer from River Godavari to
Bhagawan to sanctify her by His Divine Touch!
Towards the end of the programme, as an interlude, the announcer described a
wonderful experience of a group of Seva Dals, who while travelling in a bus were
stopped by a constable. With trepidation, they followed the constable to the police
station. The circle inspector in the station praised the Seva Dals for their noble
service in inaccessible areas. He said, “Your Baba is really great.” The inspector
further added that naxalism is eradicated from the Godavari districts because of
“your Baba”. Their last item was Dhimsa dance by Bal Vikas children. This dance is
performed continuously by the tribals from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. in their villages. As
all the artistes converged in the performing arena, an announcement was made that
they have no other thought than Swami and they were spending their lives chanting
His name. Where there is yearning, there comes swift response from Bhagawan.
Immensely pleased, Bhagawan went amidst them showering benediction and posing for a
photo session, a life time opportunity for these hapless turned lucky souls.
An exhibition on the Sri Sathya Sai Village Integration Programme was held depicting
over two hundred pictures of various activities coming under the scheme covering
adopted 44 villages.
The organizers have aptly titled the Parthi Yaatra - Giridhari Sannidhiki Girijanula
Parthi Yaatra. Yes, they have come on a pilgrimage to The Lord, and have been
conquered by His Love!

2009 Oh! What a Joy!
The hill people from the Agency areas of the East and West Godavari districts of
Andhra Pradesh are at Prasanthi Nilayam on their Parthi Yatra. This evening, the
Mandir was decorated with festoons and banners, and they presented a programme.
Bhagavan came out from His residence by 3.50 pm, and after His darshan round sat
onstage while the Vedam went on. At 4.30, He asked for the programme to begin, and
many devotees came up to Him, getting many items blessed. After a short speech in
Telugu by the leader of the group, there was a short rally by the members of the
villages which were being served by the Seva Organisation. A series of traditional
dances by the tribal folk followed. After the 75 minute programme, Swami went down
from the stage and had group photographs with the participants. When He returned to
the stage, bhajans by the devotees commenced and Prasadam was distributed. The
students continued the bhajans as clothes were distributed to the participants.
Swami accepted Arati at 6.15 pm and returned to His residence. Photos

This evening, Bhagavan came for darshan at 5.30 pm while the bhajans went on. After
His round of the Sai Kulwant Hall, He came onstage and sat for a while. At six
o'clock, He asked for some bhajans with alaps, and accepted Arati ten minutes later
before returning to His residence. The School of Business Management is hosting a
three day Management Workshop on 'Predictive Analytics' at the Prasanthi Nilayam
campus of the University beginning tomorrow.
AP youth distribution and
songs.... The Governor of Rajasthan Sri Shilendra Kumar Singh is here
for a couple of days. This evening, Sri Ashok Singhal of the VHP along with the
Shankaracharya of Sri Ramachandrapura Math of Gokarna were here for Bhagavan's
darshan. The second day of programmes by the Andhra youth consisted of
distribution of material to the needy and group songs. Swami came for darshan at
4.30 pm, and when He came to the verandah after His darshan round, He blessed the
group of Sai alumni working at the Barclays Bank who had won a prestigious award.
He then came onstage to begin the
proceedings at five o'clock. After a short speech, the names of the more than 100
beneficiaries were called out, and the needy were presented with implements for
livelihood like electrician kits, wet grinders, sewing machines, plumber kits,
computer education and so on. The distribution was followed by group songs for
more than 45 minutes. Swami sent clothes for the participants, and went down from
the stage for group photographs after Arati at 6.15 pm before leaving for His
residence in the car. More details with pictures from 20th June below
Love in Action...Distribution of Implements, Musical
Programme
June 20, 2009
“Prema Vahini” that was set in motion yesterday continued to flow, with much more
vigour and devotional fervour. After an entertaining display imbued with the core
essence of Bhagawan’s message of love and service, this evening the stage was set
for a practical demonstration of His Divine Love.
Thirty seven gents and fifty ladies, all academically unqualified, from various
districts of Andhra Pradesh were identified as beneficiaries of value addition in
the form of implements that could help them to earn daily living. These implements
included electrical kits, iron box, barbar kits, blacksmith kits, plumbing
equipments, telephone coin boxes, two-wheeler mechanic tool kits, bicycles, sewing
machines, flour grinding machines, computer, chalk-piece moulds, wet grinders and
kalankari printers, etc. Kalamkari is an art form of hand printing or block
printing normally done on cotton fabrics using only vegetable dyes or natural
colours. Some of the youth were trained in this art form by a professional from
chittoor, winner of Limca Book of world records. Apart from these implements,
value additions were given in the form of certificates of sponsorship for call
centre training, certificate of sponsorship for Polytechnic Course, Computer
training at NAC on General works, supervision in construction industry, Basic
computer training with additional accounts and tally package, spoken English and
personality development etc.
As their names were called out these beneficiaries came forward one after one,
received the implements from the organizers after paying obeisance at His Divine
Lotus Feet, symbolically offering rose flowers. Sri Ramana Reddy, the state Youth
in-charge in a brief talk introduced the service activities being undertaken by
the youth in different parts of the state. Expressing gratitude, seeking Divine
guidance, the youth leader reiterated the fraternity’s commitment towards social
development carrying the baton of His Message to the masses.
The hapless, downtrodden, till now underprivileged get a shot in their arms,
rejuvenating their lives leading them to a better tomorrow. Receiving implements
in His Name, in His Divine Presence with His Blessings would definitely mark these
lives with brighter and sunny days. Lives that have been overshadowed owing to
lack of proper guidance, initiative and education get the much needed fillip,
raising them with self-confidence, teaching them to play the game of life safe,
sound and resolute. With Bhagawan’s ever watchful eyes constantly guiding and
guarding them, one could definitely hope more and more of such initiatives
enlivening the Divine ‘desire’ that was born out of His Sankalpa for a better
world, for a peaceful world, for a world with Unity.
The grand finale was a with a bouquet of songs dedicated at His Divine Glory, Sri
Sathya Sai Avatara Vaibhavam, titled Sathya Sai Sudha Lahiri. With a devotional
surge outpouring in gratitude, The Youth sang in chorus, Oh! Lord of thousand
moons, accept our thousand salutations; we will perform abhishekam at Thy Lotus
Feet with our tears of joy on this happy occasion. In a series of songs, various
themes, namely, the glory of Bharat, Lord Sai as love walking on two feet, the
efficacy of His Divine Name, the beauty, serenity and sanctity of Sathya Sai’s
Gokulam on the banks of River Chitravathi, Sai – The Lord of all Faiths, Sathya
Sai – The Divine Mother, Bharat and National Integration and the greatness of the
holy land were covered lifting the pitch of devotional fervour and ambience to
exalted heights. “Vande Mataram, Sundara Bharatam”, “Nee Prema Vaibhavam
Nayanotsavam” were some of the popular numbers that hit the right chord lifting
the mood of devotees to greater devotional level livening up the twilight into
heavenly heights bringing joy unto thousands of hearts.
Bhagawan urges us to take one step towards Him so that He could reciprocate with a
hundred towards us. This Divine assurance is not a just maxim, but indeed a
practical reality that has been tested and proven by devotees around the world.
The beautiful valedictory evening turned out to be most enlivening in terms of His
unbounded love for the Youth for their all out devotion and dedication. After the
bouquet of songs dedicated at His Divine Glory, safari pieces and sarees were
distributed to all the singers.
Subsequently, Bhagawan specially called for the
three male singers, and with usual wave of His hand materialized not one, not two,
but three identical emerald green rings for the singers. Two were given to two of
the singers and the other one was presented to the composer cum director of the
entire cultural presentation, Mr. M.S. Prakash Rao. Arathi was offered and most
unexpectedly Bhagawan indicated that the gents and ladies, the youth, to sit on
either side, in the first block, leaving a pathway in the middle allowing Him to
move through them giving them a closer glance and a coveted snap with the Divine.
And they literally seized upon the greater opportunity swooping unto Him like
natural bees swooped unto exotic flowers. That made the moments in their life that
they would remember as most cherished possession.
Simultaneously three day work-shop for the Youth was on from 18th onwards, wherein
various speakers shared their experience and wisdom guiding the youth to help them
mould into Ideal Sai Youth. Youth is not a mere term that spells the vibrant,
energetic years in one’s life, but has a greater meaning wherein one necessarily
understand his social responsibilities and work towards a better new world order,
while individually transforming his own self.

"Prema Vahini", a Musical Dance Drama - Cultural Programme by Andhra Pradesh Youth
The year that has gone by witnessed a number of Youth Programmes by various states
and even contingents from overseas. Sathya Sai Seva Organisations persistent effort
to motivate the youth in India and overseas was with the vision to make every youth
an Ideal Sai Youth, Messengers of Sai Love to help light the lamp of love in the
heart of humanity, to help awaken the Divinity inherent in humankind and to bring
the world together as one family under the Fatherhood of God. Picking the cue from
the motivation received from the previous years, the surge seemed to be on as the
youth from the state of Andhra Pradesh organized a three day pilgrimage to the
valley of peace, bringing a maximum percentage of fresh faces, initiating them into
the fraternity to become an Ideal Sai Youth and thus becoming worthy instruments in
His Mission Divine.
More than 1,500 youth from the State of Andhra Pradesh, both men and women, all
graduates were brought to Prasanthi Nilayam on a three-day pilgrimage starting from
18th June 2009, under the auspices of Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations, Andhra
Pradesh. Aptly titled “Prema Vahini”, a musical drama, was on the central theme of
Bhagawan’s all conquering love for humanity. At the outset, the cast of the drama
offered their obeisance to Bhagawan and a few lady youth members welcomed the Lord
offering traditional Poornakumbham. The programme commenced with Bhagawan lighting
the lamp on the dais.
It was during the year Sarvajith, Ugadi 2007 that Bhagawan had spoken of a new
initiative, a project for village integration, by name, Sri Sathya Sai Village
Integration Programme. Speaking on the greater importance of village integration,
and the plight of the villages in India, Bhagawan had urged on the necessity for
permanent solutions.
“Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organization should strive towards resolving long standing
problems in villages. They should provide minimum necessities like education,
medical services, and supply of basic amenities like water. The service activities
conducted by the organization should aim towards eradicating problems from the root
to provide permanent solutions to the village hence contributing to the progress of
the nation”.
Picking the right notes from His message, the enthusiastic Youth from the state of
Andhra Pradesh embarked on various service activities in the villages in line with
His instructions and teachings.
The programme began with a declaration by the youth that, “Prema Vahini” was not a
figment of imagination; rather it was based on real life incidents and the cast were
real grama seva heroes who went into the depths of the problems of the villagers
serving them with responsibility knowing well the burden, the accountability of the
Badge of Sathya Sai Seva Organisations. The villages, especially Satropalam and
Giripuram in Krishna district had been suffering from acute scarcity of drinking
water, owing to the presence of saline content. A desalination plant, costing Rs. 15
lakh was commissioned by the state Sri Sathya Sai Organisations solving the misery
of drinking water scarcity. Similarly, in some areas of Prakasam district where
water fetching facility was not available, construction of water tanks was
undertaken by the organization sending the ‘elixir divine’ to the poor hapless
villagers. More than eighty houses were constructed, replacing the old model
thatched huts with pucca RCC construction providing shelter to the needy. Schools
were also constructed in some areas of the districts guiding the young wards to the
world of knowledge. The presentation, a medley of different scenes, was weaved
compiling the inspirational stories based on the above service activities, adding
scenes from the villages, from the illustrious life of Young Sathya Sai
disseminating the essential message of Bhagawan’s unbounded love for humanity and
the need to practise His often quoted maxim, “Love all Serve all”.
The scene opens with three youth expressing their aspirations to Sarathi, an
educated person of leading an affluent and extravagant life. Sarathi who leads a
simple life in the village serving the villagers, with his lofty views, prevails
upon the three youth to take to the path of service, claiming that Bhagawan has
rendered yeoman and selfless service to humanity; one has to emulate Bhagawan in
this respect.
In the next scene, little Sathya on hearing the cries of a poor man rushes to him
with food. When His mother notices his soiled clothes and asks the reason for it, He
tells her that He was helping the villagers by carrying water on His shoulders,
suspending two pots on a wooden rod on both the ends. The mother seeing the fame of
Little Sathya and hearing people say that He is God, gets worried as to whether He
would leave Puttaparthi. Then Sathya promises his mother that he would never leave
Puttaparthi.
The three youth resolve to do Grama Seva. Viswanatham, a pious person prays
sincerely to Bhagawan for the well-being of the villagers. The villagers have to
trudge 6 kms to get water and have to go far-off distances for schooling. They do
not have access to good healthcare. Viswanatham has a noble vision to convert salty
water into potable water. The scene ends with Viswanatham praying to Bhagawan for
providing villagers with adequate amenities.
The drama was punctuated with songs and dances adding glitter to the presentation.
In this scene, there is a talk of the desalination plant. Bhagawan is building
houses for the cyclone devastated victims of Orissa; He sent relief material to the
earthquake affected victims of Gujarat: He has provided drinking water to the city
of Chennai. Somebody opines that a desalination plant would cost a lot and pat comes
the reply from another that if there is a noble intention, there will be no shortage
of financial resources.
The next scene depicts a Sai Youth helping a villager to carry drinking water. They
even assure the villagers that they would help in providing drinking water right at
their doorstep. The youth tell the villagers that Baba has sent them to construct
permanent houses for them. The villagers express their doubt as to how they would
bring construction material to this hilly terrain. By Bhagawan’s grace, desalination
plant becomes operational and the villagers get drinking water right at their
doorstep. The villagers shed tears of joy and ask the youth as to how they could
repay the debt to Bhagawan for all His help. A youth tells them that they need to
give up their evil qualities by chanting Sai Ram. That is enough gratitude for
Bhagawan.
The cast got a coveted opportunity of being photographed with Bhagawn who chose to
climb down the aisle blessing the participants. After the distribution of clothes
and watches to the cast numbering over 100, prasadam was distributed to the devout
congregation. The little girl who cast young Sathya won special accolade from
Bhagawan blessing her with a bracelet. Adding a touch of His omnipresence, Bhagawan,
before materializing the same told the little one that He would give her a bracelet
as her father would be happy who had lost one. A long spell of bhajans by the Youth
group followed until Arathi was offered at 7.15 p.m.
A long session, worthy to take note and emulate! Prasanthi continues to emit the
spark of spirit of service to the mankind as is exemplified by Bhagawan through His
illustrious life, that He lives as ‘His Life as His Message’!

Last evening, the Union Power Minister Sri. Sushil Kumar Shinde was at Prasanthi
Nilayam for an audience with Bhagavan. This evening, Sai Schools from Gujarat
presented their programmes in Sai Kulwant Hall. Swami came for darshan just before
five o'clock and came onstage to begin the proceedings after a full round of the
Hall and blessing the new students of Class I of the Primary School. Beginning with
a dance in praise of Lord Ganesha, the children presented a half-hour drama "Samasta
Loka Sukhino Bhavantu" on the theme of Love and Peace for universal well-being.

"Ganesh Vandanam", a dance and "Samastha Lokaaha Sukhino Bhavanthu", a skit
June 18, 2009
With the fresh season in Prasanthi already had its maiden cultural programme last
week in the form of a traditional folklore of Andhra Pradesh, Burra Katha, dedicated
to the Pristine Mother, Easwaramma, this week had its stake, as the first group of
Parthi Yatra, showed up from Gujarat.
A contingent of over hundred students was brought from the twin schools in Gujarat,
Sri Sathya Sai Vidyaniketan, Navsari and from Sri Sathya Sai School, Surat and they
put up a scintillating display of dissemination of the Voice of the Avatar of the
age in the form of a dance drama, aptly titled “Samastha Lokaaha Sukhino Bhavanthu”
followed by “Yoga for Liberation” a skit on the greater significance of Yoga in
daily life.
The widely accepted universal mantra, “Lokah Samasthah Sukhino Bhavanthu” got a
twist almost a year ago when Bhagawan advised the students to chant it with a wider
universal appeal, modifying the same to “Samastha Lokaaha Sukhino Bhavanthu” and
ever since, this has been the Universal Mantra for the Sai fraternity all over the
globe.
Striking the right chord from the Divine enunciation, the tiny tots from the Sri
Sathya Sai Vidyaniketan put up a display, aptly sending the message that a broader
universal vision alone would bring peace on to human hearts which has become a
rarity in these days.
Imagine Love and Peace in individual existence discussing the endangered status with
reference to their survival in a world controlled by the men of odd passion living
in this modern age. This was exactly the opening scene where the two
‘individualized’ entities discussing the plight of the modern world wherein people
have forgotten the importance of basic values of human life. And aiming at finding a
solution, an international conference was organized wherein experts from various
faiths and professions have taken part airing their views. The folly came to the
fore with every individual who has established in the society with excellence in
their own area of expertise brought up individualized narrowed vision, failing to
foresee the core issue plaguing the society. As the discussion got heated up, there
came a mere school teacher donned in pristine white addressing the core issue that
had been eluding the intellectual panel. His solution was so simple, an adage from
Bhagawan, that tells to fill every individual heart with Love. Man instead of
changing himself, is attempting to change the world and there lays the core issue
resulting in eluding Love and Peace; man should understand the tenet that individual
peace depends on the peace of the entire world; it is with the fore-vision and
universal outlook alone that man can attain real peace.
Every tale has a moral and every moral has a source. The enigma that deluded the
intellectual panel had its solution finally in the form of a mere school teacher
whose knowledge in turn had its origin from his master and guru Bhagawan Sri Sathya
Sai Baba. The drama ended with the wise men’s panel, after solving the conundrum,
submitting at the Divine Lotus Feet of Bhagawan taking a pledge to remain committed
to be holders of Dharmasthaapana. These young wards from Sri Sathya Sai
Vidyanikeiketan, Navsari indeed had the greater message for the evening that made
one and all feel the much needed pulse for a universal vision.
"Yoga For Salvation", a skit
June 18, 2009
Bhagawan says body is the temple of God and one has to give due respect and care in
maintaining this temple. Every individual dreams of living a long and healthy life
and we have the wherewithal in the form of Maharishi’s Patanjali’s Ashtanga Yoga, as
was propagated in the 7th century.
The evening’s final presentation had this unusual theme, the greater significance
and intricacies of Yoga Sutra. It would be a dream happening, if Patanjali himself
appeared teaching someone these greater intricacies, explaining in lucid details.
This was the great good fortune of young Rohan who was initiated in to Yoga Sutra by
the great sage in a dreamy sequence as per the directive of Bhagawan Himself.
Yoga for Salvation, a musical skit, was a power packed demonstration of various
aasanas and pranayamas tagged with detailed explanations. Patanjali’s eight fold
path of Ashtanga Yoga not only ensures a sound mind in a sound body but ensures
liberation itself! Bhagawan says, “If there is any kind of strain on any part of the
body, it will not be possible to receive divine energy”. The first four steps of
Patanjali’s Ashtanga Yoga namely, Yama, Niyama, Asana and Pranayama relate to
external Yoga, then come Pratyahara, Dharana, Dhyana and ultimately Samadhi, the
state of supreme bliss having merged with the Divine.
This was an apt demonstration of bending and mending, demonstrating the most ancient
and most efficient path for salvation, by a bunch of students from Sri Sathya Sai
School of Surat, who practice Yoga and Meditation devoutly with meticulous attention
and rigorous discipline. “Unity of Faiths” and the theme of National Integration
were also demonstrated through various yogic postures allied with formations rightly
sending the message of SAIYOG, the Yoga for the present age.
Every action has an equal and opposite reaction. When you fill your heart with Love,
the Divine heart melts resulting in God manifestation in human form. Lighter moments
of Bhagawan and with Bhagawan are something that everyone cherishes to posses. Be it
a lighter moment or a serious advice, everything Bhagawan does have potential
significance and is suffused with wisdom galore. Towards the end of the one hour
long session, these tiny tots, the school children from Gujarat had the good fortune
to witness their Beloved Swami beaming with joy reciprocating to their action. The
first occasion was when the main character, Rahul, in tune with his mother’s claim
that her just single prayer to Bhagawan was heard by Him granting her son initiation
into Yoga Sutra, an ebullient Rahul, in all excitement prayed to Bhagawan that once
he finished his schooling he should be granted admission into Swami’s college and
Bhagawan broke into laughter, beaming with joy, raising his Abhayahastha as if
showing a nod of approval. Yet another occasion when the participants laid a red
carpet, strewn with rose petals, for Bhagawan to come down the aisle, for a coveted
group session with them. After setting themselves to receive the Lord, most
unexpectedly they called out with a unanimous appeal, “Swami, please come” and again
he broke into laughter consenting to climb down the aisle. Both boys and girls were
blessed with separate group photo sessions, and safari peaces and sarees
respectively.
This was followed by a short stint of bhajans, first by the contingent followed by
students from the university before arathi was offered to Bhagawan. Prasadam was
distributed before Bhagawan retired to Yajur Mandiram. A wonderful evening that
echoed the universal message “Samastha Lokaaha Sukhino Bhavanthu” exhorting one and
all to expand their vision joining hands in His Mission Divine! Also read an eye witness account of Sai
Darshan from 18& 19 June click here
In the last three darshan sessions, Bhagavan has blessed three people with chains.
On Sunday morning, He interacted for a while with the elders from the institutions
at Muddenahalli and Alike, and blessed one of the gentlemen there with a chain.
Later, that evening, just before accepting Arati, He called up a first-year student
of the Brindavan campus who had earlier studied in the Music College here, and
blessed him with a chain. And this evening, just before going to the interview room
after sitting onstage for a while, Swami called up one of the students and after a
short interaction, put a chain around his neck. It was 6 pm when Swami emerged from
the interview room and came onstage to accept Arati.
It was a beautiful and special Saturday at Prasanthi Nilayam. On June 11, Swami
had asked for three students to present the Burrakatha. However, He kept postponing
the performance till it was finally fixed for June 13. Bhagavan has always
encouraged traditional art forms and Burrakatha tops in this list. Kindly refer to
our
earlier update
for a brief introduction to this unique mode of storytelling.
Every action of Swami has the undercurrents of profound wisdom and Love. The reasons
why He does things are multi-dimensional for He achieves many objectives with a
single action. Different people perceive different reasons and all of them are right
if not comprehensive. One of the reasons of Swami postponing the Burrakatha recital
became obvious with the arrival of the new students from the Brindavan campus of the
university. Having been admitted freshly, they wanted to start their academic year
with a darshan of Swami. And so, in His very loving and sweet self, Swami
seemed to have planned for a programme when these students too are there in
Prasanthi so that they too could participate in the joy and have a wonderful
darshan too. The students from Brindavan had taken up their places in the
Mandir. The Sai Kulwant Hall was quite full, it being the weekend. People come to
His feet on “weakends” to get “strengthened” or recharge their spiritual batteries
as Swami puts it!
It was past 4:40 p.m. when Swami arrived for darshan. He took a complete
round and then moved into the interview room for a short while. Soon, He went into
the Bhajan Hall where the three performers sat, costumed and ready for His command
to begin their performance.
An interesting fact is to be mentioned here. One of the trio has been
blessed by Swami to pursue higher studies in medicine. This boy has
finished his Masters in Bio-Sciences and is determined to serve Swami in
His hospitals, and Bhagavan has been his pillar of support, in the face
of many trials, financial or administrative. In fact, Swami is
sponsoring the entire medical education of this student and though he is
already 22 years old, he is determined and steadfast in his objectives
and the Lord has blessed him. Swami lovingly enquired about whether all
the admission procedures had been completed.
The rajakiya (poilitical analyst) of
the Burra Katha trio
The boy told Swami with gratitude that he was the eldest in the class and that
the management had stated their great expectations of him. Swami advised him to be
sincere and good. That is all God asks for always - sincerity and goodness - and He
does everything else giving the credit to us! Swami blessed them to do well in the
Burrakatha. The warden too was present there and he requested Swami to visit the
hostel once before he retires from wardenship on July 1. Swami nodded His head in
consideration.
Mr. Narasimha Murthy makes the announcement
Blessings before the performance
At about 5:15 p.m, Swami arrived on the stage and asked for the warden of the
Brindavan campus to introduce the programme. The three students, Prabhakar, Aravind
Sai and Raghuram, were introduced and so was the art form. The trio arrived and
offering their salutations to Swami, took their positions. The theme for the day’s
performance was the same as the one on Easwaramma Day, that is , on Mother
Easwaramma (Please read the
previous
update).
What soulful rendering!
The Burrakatha began with a prayer to Lord Ganesha. After that, the narrators
were garlanded in the manner that tradition demands. Then, it was the Sai
Bhagawatham! However much one may attempt to tell the story of Mother
Easwaramma or Subbamma, one ends up narrating the story of dear Swami, for, it is
Swami who makes lives fruitful and wholesome. The story of the divine Mother and
Subbamma is very inspiring as they were so closely associated with God. The three
artists narrated how the mothers were privileged to witness the divinity of little
Sathya.
A sublime flow of the Sai saga...
They are garlanded as per tradition
Hailing victory to Mother Easwaramma, the students gave a brief chronology of
events in her life. She was born in the year 1890 to Sri Subba Raju. When she was
only five years old, the family migrated to Puttaparthi. Her name now finds a place
in the list of illustrious mothers of Avatars – Kausalya gave birth to Sri Rama,
Devaki to Sri Krishna and Devagiriamma to Shirdi Sai. Swami was born in the
Ratnakara Vamsa (clan) to Pedda Venkama Raju and Easwaramma. Swami was so full of
nostalgia and emotion, it seemed.
When one sees Swami's reaction to the narratives about His mother, one wonders at
the joy that the Mother would be feeling to be remembered so by the Lord. There have
been many avatars but no avatar has been recorded to have been so emotionally bonded
to the Mother. Of course, He is beyond emotions and it is merely a pointer and a
lesson to the whole humanity about the respect and position that has to be accorded
to one's parents.
The three of them narrated about the birth and infancy of Swami. When they hushed
the whole audience into silence to sing the lullaby song to put the "baby Swami" to
sleep, it was such a fulfilling and love-filling experience. It is said that the
baby, at birth, is an exactness of God till the parents humanise it with their
upbringing! Imagining the divine baby, infant Sathya, and hearing the lullaby was a
very special experience indeed.
Further, they described in a beautiful verse, how Sathya, the baby, was! For
those who understood Telugu, it was so elevating and enthralling, for Swami matched
that description even the present day, after 83 human years! This was another
insight as to why God is called timeless and ageless. Continuing their narration,
the students said, it was Subbamma, the first wife of Mr. Narayana Rao, who named
Swami as Sathyanarayana Raju. One day when Subbamma wanted to feed pakodas
to Swami, she saw all the fourteen worlds in His mouth as Yashoda saw in Lord
Krishna’s mouth in the Dwapara Yuga. Karanam Subbamma experienced great joy in
serving food to the devotees of Swami.
Referring to the three wishes of Mother Easwaramma, the students said the present
Sri Sathya Sai University, Super Speciality Hospitals and Sri Sathya Sai Drinking
Water Project bore fruit due to the humble wishes of Mother Easwaramma. In those
days, Bhagavan used to do Narayana Seva to the villagers of surrounding villages
while Mother Easwaramma distributed clothes.
On May 6, in 1972, when the Summer Course was in progress in Brindavan,
Bangalore, Mother Easwaramma left her mortal coil.
She called out, “Swami, Swami …” And Bhagavan responded immediately. He
came to her, and she breathed her last. When this episode was being
narrated, Swami was very emotional.
Looking at Him, it was so difficult to say whether Easwaramma had
mothered Him or He had mothered Easwaramma, for in the glistening
teardrop at the edge of His eye, one could see the reverence of a Son
and the selflessness of a mother, both at the same time.
It was a nearly one hour performance
Mention here must be made of the wonderful work done by the accompanying artists
on the harmonium, keyboard and the mridangam. They built up the entire mood and the
twain between the east and west was met with the wonderful chords on the keyboard
blending 'harmoniously' with the 'key' notes of the harmonium!
The Burrakatha artists concluded with a prayer that though 37 years have passed,
Mother Easwaramma is still ever fresh in everyone’s minds. "Oh Mother! Please return
to earth again to see the wonderful transformation that has affected Puttaparthi.
Your sojourn here has blessed us with unimaginable bounty."
It is often said that service is more of an attitude rather than an
action. It was indeed a noble act of great service that these three boys
did. They filled thousands of people with joy and Love for the divine.
Their song acted as a balm for stricken hearts and panacea for the
pained minds.
The vibrations were so holy, pure and joyous that everyone benefitted
from the glory of the Divine story. It was a physical expression of the
prayer, "Samastha Loka Sukhino bhavanthu" as the trio did their
bit to bring happiness and Love to humanity through their soulful
rendering.
The Lord is absolutely engrossed
As they completed their act, Swami went to the interview room and brought white
safari pieces to gift to each of them. Swami blessed them and said that He was very
happy. They told Swami that the accompanying artists had also worked very hard.
Swami said that He knew and He called them and blessed them too with the same. Swami
asked them whether they had written the scripts themselves. They said that their
teacher had done so and he was currently working on a script about the Ramayana.
Swami promised to guide him on that script. Then, when Swami asked as to what he
wanted, the lead singer, Prabhakar prayed, "Swami grant Sadbuddhi (good
intellect) to everyone here especially the students." Such a noble prayer! Swami
nodded and said that His Grace was always there. He asked him to sing an encore of a
part of the Burrakatha. The singer moved down and sang out the verse describing the
beauty of the divine babe Sai. Everyone thundered in their joyous applause.
Gifts from Swami for gifting all melodious music
The hasyam, comedian, is so grateful
Again Swami told the three of them to sing in unison and so they did. The
applause was even greater this time. Swami told them that their voices gelled very
well with each other. He granted them group photos. They prayed that they should get
more such opportunities to make Him happy and Swami promised them that He would
surely grant them.
A moment to be cherished forever
They spent several precious minutes with Him
Swami then asked for a bhajan to be sung. "Hari Om Namah Shivaya" filled
the air as everyone enthusiastically joined in the singing. After that He asked for
aarthi. Swami had only words of praises for the trio as He received
aarthi and was leaving. He blessed the card that the deputy warden of the
Brindavan campus showed Him. He looked surprised that there was no prasadam
to be distributed! But He only gave a sweet smile and blessing everyone, retired for
the day at 6:40 p.m.
"Everyday is a festival in Prashanti Nilayam," said someone during the peak of the
'programme season' when as many as 15 programmes were put up in a single month. That
statement held good even during the first tens days of June, in spite of there being
no single programme put up in the Mandir; the days were special in their own
inimitable way. There weren't any festoons, backdrops, costumes and the other
paraphernalia, which are usually associated with festivals. But the festivities came
in the guise of more than 5000 people, who had gathered with devotion and Love for
God to sing His praises. It indeed was festival time as that's what had been
happening at the Prasanthi Nilayam everyday since the beginning of the new academic
year. Here is the description of one typical day of the past one week.On June 10, 2009, Swami arrived just as the first bhajan had begun. The ladies' side
and the gents' side were both almost full. It is so interesting the way people think
and arrive at Puttaparthi. During the major festivals and the pilgrimage visits by
devotees from the many Indian states and countries, the hall becomes full because of
the sheer number of devotees that arrive. And during the "non-peak" days, news
quickly travels that the Mandir is sparsely crowded and immediately devotees pour in
to increase their probability of getting a close darshan. The net result -
Prashanthi Nilayam is filled with devotees always!
Swami moved through the ladies side accepting letters and talking to a few of them.
Moving into the students' section, He faced a multitude of letters. A gentle smile
seemed to come over His face. (An onlooker might even wonder as to what the students
write in their letters to Him daily! But He knows every heart, and responds
accordingly too!) There have been occasions when Swami has come for darshan before
all the students had arrived from their places of study. On such days, the few who
had arrived, rush to the rear side of the portico with their letters. Once, Swami
passes that way, they move back to the front and (again) have another letter to
offer to Him! One day Swami also indicated to a student and, to the merry laughter
of those around, said, "You were sitting yonder. Now you have come here. You will
return after I pass! Correct?" The boy sheepishly nodded a yes.Swami collected a few letters and asked the people walking behind His chair to
collect some more on His behalf. The same continued into the gents' side too. After
the darshan round, Swami moved on to the stage and sat for the bhajans. As always,
the bhajans gain in volume and enthusiasm with Him around. Swami looked at all the
people who had assembled and granted His attention to different sections of the hall
during different phases of the bhajans. Almost everyone had that cherished feeling,
"He saw me and I am blessed." Sometimes, during the bhajans, people rise and leave -
they either have a bus to catch, a duty/call to attend or any of the many reasons.
Swami watches them leave with the same look as He watches those sitting and singing.
The feeling of God being the Eternal Witness envelopes one during such moments and a
silent joy surges in their beings. That feeling may culminate in a gentle smile on
the Divine lips or at times with a stern look from Him and at other times with Swami
going into a trance. Silently, He moulds, charges, transforms, guides, assures or
commands but all the while a mass communion is on.
Swami sat for about an hour for bhajans that day. In between, it was sought from Him
as to whether prasadam could be distributed. Swami told them to hold back till the
aarthi. The students from the new M. Tech batch held a card for Him to see and a
cake for Him to cut. Swami saw them and told them to wait. At the end of the
bhajans, Swami also chanted the universal peace prayer, "Samastha Lokaha Sukhino
Bhavanthu". Then, He blessed the mangoes to be distributed to all and retired for
the day.
"The Avatar's Life is His message", is an oft-repeated quote. It is mentioned
in speeches, seminars and conferences held in the Divine Presence, both physical
and meta-physical (as in those conducted elsewhere than in Puttaparthi). But more
than that, it is a common scene at Puttaparthi to see Swami in action, living this
very ideal. These are occasions for all to observe and imbibe. June 5 happened to
be one such day.
Yet another display of Divine Leela begins..
It began in the "usual" fashion. Swami arrived for darshan at about
4:30 p.m. The Primary School students had also come though it was a Friday,
because the previous day, when Swami visited the Institute auditorium, they did
not have the opportunity for darshan. The stage seemed to be set for
Swami's lesson. He went on a complete round in the Sai Kulwant Hall. However, on
this day He seemed to be in no mood to accept letters. He was telling everyone to
keep their envelopes with themselves. He just went around blessing everyone with
darshan. Moving to the stage, He sat listening to Veda chanting.
He called one of the students and enquired about one boy from the Brindavan campus
of the University. It deems fit to mention here about a fact that is not widely
known, much like most of the things that Swami does, the silent worker that He is.
Some of the students who have either completed their 12th grade or their under
graduation in Bio-Sciences expressed to Swami their desire to study medicine and
serve in His hospitals. Bhagavan encouraged them and paid their medical course
fees and even got them admitted into esteemed colleges! This "student enquiry" was
in this regard.
The conversation between the student and Swami went on, even as two more boys
also joined in.
Student: Swami, the discourse yesterday was so nice. Thank
you.
Swami: Did all the boys like it?
Student: Yes Swami. It is all your Grace. And you blessed our
hostel too. All of us are so grateful.
Swami patted the folded palms of the students and granting them namaskar,
told them to sit in their places and then moved into the interview room.
Bhagavan, the Silent Witness
Loving interactions...
The bhajans began at 5:00 p.m. During the bhajans, Swami arrived
on stage again. On this day, the bhajans had a new accompaniment - the
gush of the pouring rains on the roof! The downpour was so sudden and loud that it
seemed to drown the bhajans in volume! Soon, mangoes and sweets - the
prasadam for the day - were brought for blessings and Swami blessed them to
be distributed. The distribution began and everything was going on as usual when
Swami noticed devotees standing in the rain beyond the main gate of the hall where
the statues of Lord Rama, Lakshmana and Mother Sita have been installed.
The Sweet Lord consecrating the sweets
Swami blesses the mango prasadam
He told the students by His side that those devotees must be brought in and given
prasadam. "They will catch a cold in the rain", He said.
As per His command, the gates were opened and the devotees were let in. Swami,
however, was not happy, it seemed. He said that there were still devotees getting
wet and not all had received prasadam. Then began a flurry of journeys to
the gate by various staff and students and all came back with answers with varying
degree of convictions confirming that all devotees were in the shelter of the hall
and all had received prasadam. Swami was insistent and persistent that
all had not received mangoes.
Then Swami said, "There are ladies who did not receive mangoes."
This was a revelation. When investigated, it was found that indeed there were a
group of ladies just outside the hall in the shelter of a neem tree who had not
received prasadam. It was only after the ladies were brought in and
seated, and given mangoes, that Swami seemed a little satisfied. "See, now
they are getting the women. And you said that all had received!" He then
made a brief trip to the interview room and returned, again persisted,
"All have not received!"
"There are ladies who did not receive mangoes" - Swami
What followed next was an eye opener for all. A brief history has to be mentioned
here. Like the gopikas of the Dwapara age, there are a couple of ladies staying at
Puttaparthi who have Swami alone as their everything. Everyday, without fail, from
early morning till late evening, they stand watching Swami's residence and Swami
whenever He is visible. They run behind His car wherever He goes and that too the
entire distance almost, putting to shame many of the athletic men! They keep
chanting His name and it is so obvious that His form pervades all their thoughts
and their being. In fact, on one occasion, Swami had stopped His car, lowered the
windows and gifted them sarees as tokens of His love and Grace. And on this day,
it seemed as if one of them seated there, had not received prasadam. As
the Aarthi was complete, Swami said, "I will go there!"
The rains had abated, but He still continues
to pour His Love
For the longing devotees, what a shower of unexpected grace!
Thus it was that for the sake of one devotee, the Lord moved all the way to the
main entrance. He personally ensured that all, including the 'gopikas', had
received prasadam. The rains had abated by now but He was continuing to
pour His Love. Hundreds of devotees thronged the gates with shouts of "Sathya Sai
Baba Ki Jai." Swami advised everyone there from the distribution boys to the
security people on how the devotees must be properly served. Pointing towards the
people, He told a student, "See, they are not satisfied." The
student replied, "Swami we gave all of them mangoes." Swami immediately retorted,
"You and your mangoes! They have come for Swami, not mangoes. They want more of
Him." An eye opener again! When we are physically close to the Lord, let
us always remember the millions who would do anything to get that proximity at
that time.
All souls were drenched in Divine ecstasy!
Swami then moved back towards the hall. He took a detour and instead of using
the car, returned to His residence in the chair itself.
Yesterday, the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Principal of the campus and other
teachers prayed to Bhagawan to bless the students and staff by coming to the college
auditorium and addressing them, and Bhagawan had indicated that He would come. The
students were busy preparing for the visit in the auditorium today when suddenly
Swami arrived there at noon! He told them He'd come to see the arrangements, and
that He would return at four o'clock. Accordingly, all were ready at the auditorium
in the evening, and Bhagawan came there from Sai Kulwant Hall at 4.15 pm. A couple
of books by the faculty were blessed by Bhagawan, and there were talks by the
Vice-Chancellor and an MBA student. Swami then commenced His Divine Discourse at
4.55 pm, relayed live to the other two campuses of the University by web-conference
video link.
Swami stressed on the need for students to realize that each and every living
creature is the embodiment of God, and behave accordingly to Help Ever and Hurt
Never, Loving All and Serving All. Students should not just close their eyes and
think they are concentrating - they should help the society. After His 45 minute
Discourse, He sang 'Hari Bhajan Bina' and immediately left for the Senior Students'
Hostel. There, He went into the dining Hall, and acceded to the prayers of the
teachers there to bless the new room built for Swami. Moving through the entire
complex, Swami moved back to the dining hall seeing the Ranganatha installed nearby
on the way and blessing the students there. From the Hostel, He moved in the car to
Sai Kulwant Hall where the bhajans were going on. Sitting onstage for a couple of
bhajans while prasadam was distributed, Swami accepted Arati and returned to His
residence around 6.30 pm.
This evening, Bhagawan came to Sai Kulwant Hall in the car at 3.50 pm, and directly
moved out through the main gate for a drive. Five minutes later, the Chief Minister
of Karnataka Sri. B. S. Yeddyurappa
accompanied by a few of his ministry colleagues arrived at the Mandir. Swami
returned after fifteen minutes and granted an audience to the distinguished
visitors, and they left before five o'clock. At around 5.15 pm, Swami came onstage
while the bhajans went on, and accepted Arati after prasadam distribution around
twenty minutes later.
