As the Dasara festivity in
Prasanthi Nilayam is coming to a close tomorrow,
today, on the penultimate evening, the Prasanthi
Vidwan Mahasabha featured an exhilarating talk
by Dr N Gopalakrishnan, a reputed scientist and
promoter of India’s scientific and spiritual
heritage. Bhagawan’s Divine discourse followed
next.
Earlier, the evening proceedings commenced at
1640 hrs. with invocatory Vedic chanting by the
students of the Prasanthi Nilayam campus. Sri
Bhavani Shankar Pandey, Research Scholar at
SSSIHL, Prasanthi Nilayam did the introductory
talk, presenting the ensuing session to the
august assembly.
Dr N Gopalakrishnan, a well acclaimed scientist
with vast research experience, has been the
recipient of many prestigious scientific awards
and also the author of several books on
scientific and cultural heritage. He possesses a
unique blend of modern scientific knowledge with
knowledge about Indian heritage. Dr
Gopalakrishnan had the unique opportunity of
addressing in the Divine presence during the Ati
Rudra Maha Yajna – 2006, in Prasanthi Nilayam.
Reflecting his thoughts on the glorious Indian
Culture, Dr Gopalakrishnan began referring to the nine
different days of Devi Navarathri. Recounting his personal
experience with Bhagawan during the 2006 Ati Rudra Maha
Yajnam and subsequent Divine ‘visitations’ he had of
Bhagawan, the erudite scholar divulged into presenting six
points that would ensure that everyone leads a purposeful,
meaningful life. The six points are relating to Mind, Body,
Family, Culture, Society and Nation.
Elevating the Mind with filling positive thoughts, Nurturing
the Body and keeping it healthy by following a disciplined
life, Making the Family a living nucleus of perfect love,
protecting the Culture, serving the Society and thus making
our Nation golden…as it ought to be.
Keep the Ideal of Bhagawan and march towards practising His
teachings, traversing to Light, exhorted the speaker who at
the beginning asserted that he would not speak anything that
he does not practise, nor he would give any advice that is
difficult to practise.
Stressing on the greater good fortune of the Sai fraternity
in spreading the messages of Bhagawan, Dr Gopalakrishnan
advised the devotees to utilize the internet and the social
media services to spread the same, irrespective of the
results thereof, whether it is being accepted or not.
Develop “Yajna Bhava” while engaged in service, advised the
speaker to the students and the assembly at large, narrating
his personal experience at Edmonton, Canada during the early
nineties, wherein Sai volunteers would engage themselves in
‘silent service’ with atmost dedication sans any expectation
or publicity. Listen to Bhagawan’s stories and messages,
experience Him and practise His precepts, concluded Dr
Gopalakrishnan his inspiriting speech.
The capacity audience sat in rapt attention and at the end
the speaker was given a rousing round of applause, in
appreciation of his inspiring speech.
Bhagawan’s Divine discourse followed next (played on the PA
system) and ended with the bhajan “Hari Hari Hari Hari
Smarana Karo…”
Even as bhajans commenced, the guest speaker was felicitated
by Sri V Srinivasan, President, SSSSO – India. Prasadam was
distributed to the entire assembly of devotees. Mangala
Arathi at 1830 hrs. marked the end of the proceedings for
the evening.
Thirteen villages of Puttaparthi and Bukkapatnam mandals
have been served today, on the 8th and penultimate day of
the Grama Seva Yajna. Sri Sathya Sai Grama Seva would
culminate tomorrow with the women students from the
Anantapur campus completing the Yajna, serving inmates of
Prasanthi Nilayam precincts.
Poornahuthi of the Veda Purusha Saptaha Jnana Yajna would be
offered tomorrow morning, Vijaya Dasami, at 0930 hrs. in the
Poornachandra Auditorium marking the culmination the
week-long Yajna.
