2,200 devotees from Kancheepuram
North and South districts of Tamil Nadu have come on a chartered train to
Prasanthi Nilayam. This train was specially arranged for their pilgrimage to
Prasanthi Nilayam. They will be participating in all the devotional programmes
on 9th and 10th February 2013.
It is noteworthy to mention here that out of the 2,200 devotees, 1,500 of them are visiting Prasanthi Nilayam for the first time. In the morning, these devotees (gents) sang Bhajans. The speaker who made an introductory note mentioned that they had not come to this place with any expectations, because they are incapable of asking anything from the Lord. All they want is to spiritually recharge themselves and that they would come again and again.
The first programme for the evening was a bouquet of devotional songs titled “Nadopasana.” Starting their performance with salutations to Lord Ganesh with the song “Gajananam Bhuta Ganadhi Sevitam,” they continued on a high note with the famous Tamil devotional, “Marutamalai Mamamaniye Murugaiah,” a song sung by the Carnatic classical music virtuoso Madurai Somasundharam in many concerts. They followed it up many other famous numbers which included Telugu songs too. To mention a few, “Kannan Vandan Inge Kannan Vandan” (little child Krishna has come here), “Pahi Rama Prabhu,” “Sevaiye Namathu Padaiyam Sevaiye Namathu Vazhkaiyam (service is our way of life and service is our life) …
The next programme was a lively dance performance “Kalinga Mardhanam.” The very name Krishna brings delight. The Avatar descends on earth when man forgets the divine. Swami says, “When Krishna is born in the cellar of our minds, the darkness is dispelled.” The innumerable Leelas of Krishna were performed to remove the veil of ignorance in humanity. What followed was another equally delectable dance performance “Sai Premaye Veda Saramu” by the students of Bal Vikas and Sri Sathya Sai Human Values Excellence. The latter was formed on 19th January 2011 to uplift students from economically backward sections and train them on ethical values.
The presentation based on the theme of Bhagawan’s Avatarhood, Veda Poshana and Bhakta Rakshana (nurturing of Vedas and protection of devotees). The crescendo of this performance was reached when a student dressed as Bhagawan officiated a Yajna as Bhagawan does on the occasion on Veda Purusha Saptaha Jnana Yajna. At the end of the evening’s performance, there were a few Bhajans as clothes were distributed to the cast. The programme came to a close with distribution of Prasadam to the entire gathering and Arati. II Samastha Lokah Sukhino Bhavantu II | ||||
