Evening Session:
Words of appreciation with even ‘superlatives’ fail to express the high-standard on par professional talents of Bhagawan’s Sathya Sai Students. This beautiful evening bore testimonty to this high class multifaceted act of Sathya Sai Students when they came up with a scintillating band display followed by Music and Dance.
Continuing from where they stopped in the morning, the programme commenced with a Band Display by the Alumni that again rocked the house. Nurtured their talents at The Lotus Feet Of Beloved Bhagawan, they returned for the New Year only to offer back what He had taught them over the years. Beginning with the popular Eashwar Hey Allah… the band had a saxophone ‘duet’ and a couple of more numbers to offer before giving way to the Prasanthi Dance Troupe.
Taking over, the Prasanthi Dance Troupe, again nurtured in person by Bhagawan Himself, brought forth an array of thematic dance offerings, beginning with a Sai Ganesha Vandana. Next to come was a classic depiction of the Dasavatars of Lord Vishnu, followed by Ramji Ki Sawari. ARCHIVENew Year In The Divine Presence…
| |||
New Year in Prasanthi Nilayam is synonymous with the unique Bond Of Love between Bhagawan and His grateful students. It has been the set custom for over a decade that alumni from SSSIHL would assemble at His Lotus Feet celebrating the Bond Of Love. Following the tradition, hundreds of alumni from different parts of the globe assembled in Prasanthi today celebrating the New Year in the immediate Divine omnipresence.
The programme for the evening commenced with a flag-march at 1645 hrs., that arrived at the Sanctum Sanctorum offering salutations at Bhagawan’s Lotus Feet. The flag-march was accompanied by Veda chanting by the alumni.
Even as the introductory speaker strolled into the nostalgic golden past, reminiscing their wonderful days with Bhagawan, after the flag-march, groups of students went forward with various offerings that included New Year Greetings, New Year Cake, Vidyullekha’s latest edition, Bridge Across Time’s latest volumes, chocolates etc.
Speakers for the session were Dr Srinivas and Sri Anil Kumar. Speaking about Bhagawan’s guidance and direction in their lives, full of infinite compassion, Dr Srinivas said Bhagawan is with us even after His physical passing on. It is due to His grace and compassion that we are able to proceed forward in our lives, said the doctor narrating how Bhagawan’s helping hand came at the right time when he met with a ‘disaster’, as his hospital in Vizag had collapsed only to revive back by His Divine grace, overcoming all obstacles. Bhagawan is with us every moment and let us all pray to Bhagawan to make our lives His message, concluded the grateful speaker.
By the exemplary behaviour world should recognise that you are Sai students and thus about the glory of His Institution, thundered Sri Anil Kumar opening the floodgates of tales of His Bond Of Love with His students. Exhorting the students to join the main stream of Sathya Sai Seva Organisation, Sri Anil Kumar told the students, that anyone who practises His teachings is a Sai student; One should earn the title by practising His teachings.
Next, Rhythmic Energy, the famed Brass Band of the alumni, played some scintillating tunes. Beginning with an invocatory piece propitiating Mother Divine, they continued with Love Is My Form…, Hari Bhajana Binaa to wind up in style with a lively piece, a fusion of rhythm and energy symbolising Power Of Divine.
As the twilight slowly set in, with musical stalwarts from the bygone era were around, it was time for a Musical Sandhya. Led by Dr. Sunam from the 80′s batch, singer cum composer, the music troupe took the floor presenting a unique offering, done most innovatively and aesthetically. Mostly using their own compositions, they sang seven pieces, that included a Kabir Vani, a Qawwali on Haji Ali and an English composition of “Love” sung strumming the guitar etc. Squatting in a semi-circle, with Dr Sunam compeering the show, the troupe strolled into the nostalgic past of their student days bursting into spells of songs for Him…Him and Him alone.
The session concluded with Bhagawan singing ‘Sathyam Jnaanam Anantham Brahma…’ followed by Mangala Arathi offering at 1905 hrs.
Earlier, in the New Year morning the Brass Band from the Institute presented a Band display playing five numbers. Compilations included Memories of the years gone by…, Celebrating the joyous presence of Bhagawan’s omnipresence…, Life Is a Challenge Meet It…, Gopikas’ unsullied devotion to Bhagawan Sri Krishna and I Will Be There For You… II Samastha Lokah Sukhino Bhavantu II

Grateful Alumni Returns To Divine Mother’s Fold…Monday, Dec 31st, 2012
| |||
Grateful children returns to Divine Mother’s fold recounting the Love Of Thousand Mothers – The Divine Mother Of Bounteous Pure Love, Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai. Even as the year 2012 wears out into the annals of history, celebrating the 32nd anniversary of their alma mater, alumni of Sri Sathya Sai Primary School gathered at the Lotus Feet of Beloved Bhagawan on this new year eve today here in Prasanthi Nilayam. The evening programme commenced at 1700 hrs. with two of the speakers, one apiece representing both boys and girls, recounting the ‘wonder-touch’ of The Mother With The Love Of Thousand Mother. Speaking first, Ms Sonia Thakar, of batch of 1996-2003, who had her stint in professional journalism with famed TV channels, took the audience down the memory lane touching upon ‘LOVE’, the golden thread that links Him with His properties. Studying under Swami’s umbrella has been a wonderful experience with values coming to the fore at every step, every day throughout…as a continuous learning experience, said a grateful Sonia narrating beautiful tales of His Touch Of Love. At a time when she entertained serious apprehensions about joining a TV channel, that was in the news for wrong reasons indulging in spreading negative propaganda about Bhagawan, the speaker narrated how subtly Bhagawan guided her to clarity through a Divine discourse.
Talking about Miracle Of His Divine Love, the speaker also narrated a couple of incidents wherein two families were saved from gruesome road accidents, unhurt. Lavishing special praise for the wonderfully dedicated teachers at the Primary School, the speaker paused a question, …In gratitude, what should we do? …we should be able to follow at least one of His teachings, said Sonia ending her exhilarating speech at a positive note, …let’s step into 2013 as Sai is foremost in our thoughts, words and deeds, practising Love All Serve All. Sri Sai Gunaranjan, of batch 1987-2002, who is the founder of United Care Development Services, a philanthropic forum taking active role in social service, spoke next calling it a Home Coming… Speaking about the dedicated devoted teachers at the School, Gunaranjan said, actual learning happens outside the classroom with Bhagawan at the centre. The great Mother that He is, Bhagawan balances it so skilfully as a Mother and extreme task master, Who pushes His students to the extreme to bring the best out of His students. His subtle influence helps His students to stretch beyond the boundaries.
Touching upon his area of social activities, Gunarajan opined that evil is rampant in today’s world not because it is stronger but because good ones are silent. ‘Giving’ is inevitable in man’s life, by default, as he has to leave everything when the final call comes; so, it is a matter of choice for man to decide when and where he practise the act of giving and sharing. A bouquet of songs by the alumni followed, interspersed with beautiful narrations of wonderful tales with Bhagawan. Songs for the evening were: Pyare Sai Hamare…, Tu Pyar Ka Sagar Hai…, Someone Above To Guide Me…, Maula Maula Mere… and Mother Of Mine…. A short video on the Primary School followed, wherein Bhagawan spoke of very high of the wonderment called Sri Sathya Sai Primary School.
Bhajans contined and ended with Mangala Arathi at 1830 hrs. Tomorrow, on the New Year morning, SSSIHL Brass Band would play special tunes in the morning. In the evening, alumni of SSSIHL would be presenting special programme. The programme would commence with a procession from Yajur Mandir followed by speeches, band programmes and songs. WE WISH OUR READERS A HAPPY HOLY NEW YEAR!! Let’s bring a smile on His beautiful face by practising Care For Life, Concern For Nature and Respect For Creation…!!! Gratitude Offering by Primary School Alumni today…

Nostalgic golden memories of Primary School days came forth as former students of Sri Sathya Sai Primary School assembled commemorating 30 golden years of their alma mater this evening in Prasanthi Nilayam. The programme commenced at 1715 hrs., with offerings and salutations at Multifaceted Sai, Who has been invariably donning different roles, as Father, Mother, Friend, Guru and God for different students.
Beginning with an introduction, by Ms. Anamika Aravind, on the inception of the school way back in 1980’s, the programme had a bouquet of songs interspersed two detailed accounts of reminiscences, one each from boys’ and girls’ wing. The first speaker was Ms. Sai Geetha MN (1983-1993) who took the audience down the memory lane with wonderful tales from many students. A physicist by profession, with proven academic brilliance, Ms. Sai Geetha began ruminating on the vastness of the galaxy that numbers in millions and billions, wondering how the Creator of this wonderful creation donned the garb of a human that remains an incomprehensible mystery to human minds. Narrating how students would do things to earn a smile from Bhagawan, Sai Geetha shared her own secret of academic excellence of winning almost eight gold medals, to Bhagawan Who performed her ‘Aksharabhyasam’ introducing her into the world of letters.
The second speaker was Mr. Partish Dubey (1978-1995) who began with the inception and wonderful tales from the school days at Ootacamund, Ooty, which was later shifted to Prasanthi Nilayam. Narrating tales galore, the speaker wondered whether they could ever repay Bhagawan for all that He has done for them. Ending his inspiring reminiscence, Sri Partish made a special mention of teachers, paying gratitude to them, for their dedicated loving service that often helped the little ones in internalizing Bhagawan.
Songs for the evening included “At Your Feet Dear Lord We Pray…”, “O Maa…Sai Maa…”, “Why Fear When I Am Here…” Teri Hain Zameen Tere Aasmaan…”, “Sai Mata Bindalam…”, “We Have A Great Big Wonderful Lord…” etc.
A commemorative book “Voices from three decades” was also released at His Lotus Feet on the occasion. The book contains collective childhood experiences of students at the Primary School, in the form of poems, articles, anecdotes and life changing interactions with Bhagawan.

On this New Year evening, The Lord who is beyond Time, Lord of Timelessness was ushered into the Sai Kulwant Hall in a regal procession that was apt for The Divinity! The entrance gate at the western end, leading from Yajur Mandiram, had a huge arch with wordings "Om Sai Kalaatheethaaya Namaha!",
hailing the attributeless, timeless Divinity! Festive demenour that Prasanthi wore from the Christmas days continued in the Sai Kulwant Hall as the South African decorations stayed on, while the dais wore a new look with the alumni putting up a spectacular display of decorations adorning the seat of The Divine! This was a session earmarked for the alumni of SSSIHL, an annual affair the folks eagerly await, to come back to the portal!
The Lord who played all 'games' with His students... for His students, watching them growing and glowing, came in for adoration as lavish praise was heaped unto Him when intermittent commentary pushed the session forward. Some more numbers followed including a Qawwali before they switched over to bhajans as commanded by Bhagawan. All the songs were tuned to the theme of Love, "The Bond Of Love" between Mother Sai and Her Children, "Prema Bandham!" Source & credits: copyrights-Sri Sathya Sai Sadhana Trust,sssbpt.org
