With
the festive fervour continues in Prasanthi post Guru Purnima
celebrations, this evening there were two programmes, a Balinese
dance followed by a Mexican choir here in Prasanthi Nilayam.
The programme commenced at 1700 hrs. after half-an-hour Vedam chanting with a Balinese dance entitled “Krishna & Gopalas”. The short presentation was a danceous depiction of Lord Krishna’s playful life with His gopalas. The presentation was pregnant with the message of Bhagawan Krishna’s omnipresent Divinity.
Next to come was the Mexican offering. Celebrating 40 years of Sathya Sai Organisations, Mexico, the ‘Mexican Choir’ offered a ‘White n’ Rosy’ offering, a medley of Mexical Folk Songs followed a bouquet of devotionals.
Donned in Pritine White with rosy scarves, with women wearing white n’ rosy head gear, the troupe began with ‘Ganapathi Prarthana’ followed by ‘Sahanavatu’ and “Shanti Mantra’ recited with ‘Indian Perfection’.
First phase of the programme saw the Mexicans singing a medley of nine Mexican folk songs. Charged with devotional enthusisam they began with The Countryside Woman singing “Oh Baba listen to the birds singing Your songs of love!” followed by The northern lady and a Mixtecan Song, ‘How far I am from the land where I was born…”. A song, singing paeans to Prasanthi Nilayam, How beautiful is Michoacan (Nilayam!) followed next, “Long time ago, God moved paradise from heaven and put it on earth, changing its name to Nilayam…”. Other numbers were Beautiful and beloved Mexico, Linaloe (Oh! lovely land of mine…), Guadaiajara, a song in praise of the traditional Mexican city, From Sunday to Sunday singing “Swami, when will it be Sunday so that we can come to see You again!” and Beautiful Darling, a joyful song inviting the loved ones to sing instead of crying. Squeky shrilled noice inserted spiced up the entire show, adding curiosity among the audience.
The second phase was equally poised as the troupe went on singing some Mexican devotionals singing paeans to Lord Ganesha, Bhagawan at Shirdi and Parthi, Lord Krishna and Lord Shiva. The numbers were” “Oh My Lord Ganesha”, “Sing The Name Of Bhagawan Baba!”, “Thank You Lord Of The Orange Robe”, “Krishna You Enchant Our Heart” and “Dance Shiva, Dance!” The troupe of around 40, both men and women, sung with great devotional fervour, interlaced with commentary, filling the Sanctum Sanctorum with sacred vibrations, charging up the entire Sai Kulwant Hall. The Mexicans signed off in style singing two Prasanthi bhajans, “Jaya Guru Omkara…” and “Shivaya Namah Shiva…”.
Bhajans by the students continued and ended with Mangala Arathi offering at 1820 hrs. II Samastha Lokah Sukhino Bhavantu II |

Guru Poornima Discourse Special Every Guru is known for following a particular line of Sadhana. He/She attracts disciples who are interested in that line of Sadhana. The specialty of a Sadguru, when the Lord descends as a Guru, is that that the Sadguru attracts people of all kinds of propensities. He has the capability to guide and take everyone along to the Ultimate Goal. While a Guru can be compared to a boat, a Sadguru is a ship ferrying people across the Bhavasagara (ocean of worldly existence). In this discourse excerpt presented as Guru Poornima 2013 special, Bhagawan Baba explains the actual meaning of the trinity - Brahma, Vishnu and Maheshwara. Further, He dilates on the Soham principle advising aspirants on the proper technique for Pranayama and the chanting of the Aumkaara.
