Balinese Offering – “Krishna” 13th July 2014 |
|||
Avatars and Their Mahimas (glory)
are not bound by cultural and national borders nor by any other
boundaries. Avatars belong to the entire creation and thus every
culture has its own stake and style of depicting Avataric Life
stories. Even as Guru Purnima celebrations continue, this evening Balvikas children and Mahilas (women) from Indonesia presented the most enchanting story of ‘Little Krishna’ in a colourful dance drama this evening here in Prasanthi Nilayam.
The depiction in Balinese style was interlaced with colourful dance accompanied by songs illustrating the beauty of Little Krishna’s story, presented in short segments with narrations. Right from the birth of the Avatar to the Kaliyamardana episode were depicted in the short presentation of 40 minutes.
Earlier, the programme commenced at 1700 hrs. with a traditional Balinese musical offering by the Mahilas (women) from Indonesia. Sung against the backdrop of resonating sounds of Balinese traditional “Gamelan’, an ensemble of native musical instruments, their singing turned out to be a devotional treat; though alien except for the intermittent repetition of “SaiRam” the evening assembly had a taste of Indonesian discipline and devotion on this beautiful evening.
Bhajans continued and ended with Bhagawan singing “Prema Muditha Manase Kaho Rama Rama Ram…” Guru Purnima 2014 in Prasanthi Nilayam will have its concluding offering tomorrow with a devotional musical evening by the devotees from Russian speaking countries.
